Illuminati's Montepulciano Ilico is a 100% Montepulciano-based red. The vineyards of origin lie on medium-textured, clayey soils located in the municipality of Controguerra (TE), 260 meters above sea level. The harvest took place, after a careful selection, in the first ten days of October. The vinification included an alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel at 28°C with a long maceration of the must on the skins. The refinement took place in 25 hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels for a period of 12 months and in the bottle for 8-10 months.

Illuminati's Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Ilico has a ruby red color with purple reflections. On the nose it offers aromas of cherry and ripe plum which meet timid hints of red flowers and warm notes of black pepper and vanilla. The sip is enveloping and full-bodied, supported by vigorous tannins and a persistent fruity and spicy finish. At the table it pairs well with semi-mature cheeses as well as rich earthy dishes based on red meat.
