Sartarelli's Verdicchio Balciana was obtained from 100% Verdicchio grapes grown in the district of the same name in the municipality of Poggio San Macello (AN). The reference vineyard, exposed to the North-East, is rooted in medium-textured calcareous soils, at an altitude between 300 and 350 meters above sea level. The refinement took place for 10 months in stainless steel plus a further 12 months in the bottle. Sartarelli's Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Balciana is produced only in particularly favorable years.
VERDICCHIO BALCIANA SARTARELLI: TASTING
The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Balciana by Sartarelli is revealed to the eye as having a straw yellow color with golden reflections. On the nose it expresses aromas of ripe tropical fruit that meet floral hints of lime and delicate notes of acacia honey. The olfactory profile is complemented by hints of citrus peel and liquorice root. The sip is soft and full-bodied, enhanced by a robust minerality and a clear freshness that persists in the long almond finish. At the table it goes well with semi-mature cheeses as well as succulent seafood dishes. Also excellent in combination with white meats.
