The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Riserva Vigna del Sorbo di Fontodi is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown using the guyot method in the eponymous vineyard, facing South-West and characterized by vines over 40 years old. During red winemaking, the alcoholic fermentation was initiated thanks to indigenous yeasts in stainless steel where the must macerated on the skins for 3 weeks. The aging took place for 24 months in new Troncais and Alliers barriques.

The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Riserva Vigna del Sorbo di Fontodi presents itself in the glass with an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it releases aromas of ripe small red fruits, violet, and aromatic herbs that chase hints of cocoa powder and graphite, along with enveloping notes of oriental spices. The taste is soft and elegant, supported by silky tannins and a long balsamic and spicy finish. At the table, it pairs well with aged cheeses as well as structured meat dishes, especially those based on red meats or game.
