Barena Venezia is an all-Italian brand that was founded in 1993 from an idea by Sandro Zara and Massimo Pigozzo. The name of the company is inspired by rural Venice: the term “cheater” in Veneto dialect indicates the typical terrain of the lagoons that emerge during low tide, an element that distinguishes the landscape Venetian. “Barena” takes up the Venetian word that indicates the territory of the lagoon between land and sea: how the brand name recalls the history of its place of origin, so different its garments reinterpret ancient garments preserved in local museums in a modern key.
