The Primitivo Rosato Aka from the Producers of Manduria is one of the pure Primitivo wines of this cooperative winery, for which this grape variety represents the fulcrum. The cooperative, founded way back in 1932, is now made up of around 400 members who cultivate 1000 hectares, half of which are Primitivo. The plants on which the bunches destined for rosé grow are between 20 and 40 years old, and are trained in espalier, on medium-textured calcareous-tuff soils. The grapes harvested at the end of August undergo a skin maceration of 8-12 hours, then ferment at a controlled temperature and refine in stainless steel tanks.
PRIMITIVE ROSATO AKA PRODUTTORI DI MANDURIA: THE TASTING
The Primitivo Rosato Aka from Prottici di Manduria has a beautiful, intense and bright coral colour. It is captivating on the nose, with fragrant notes of fresh cherry, pomegranate, wild strawberries and raspberry, accompanied by hints of cinchona and refreshing notes of liquorice and pink pepper. In the mouth it is juicy, fresh and tasty. Fantastic with the delicious Taranto panzerotti, as with the buffalo tomato and sausage pizza, or with the capocollo from Martina Franca.
