The Luna Mater by Fontana Candida is the label that most demonstrates and glorifies the passionate work in the vineyard and winery that the company has always dedicated to the Frascati denomination, a clear reflection of the territory. The production area includes the entire territories of the municipalities of Frascati, Grottaferrata, and Monte Porzio Catone, and part of the municipalities of Rome and Montecompatri. Fontana Candida owns 25 hectares of vineyards, 13 of which are made up of the S. Teresa Vineyard. The hills where the vineyards are located, at altitudes ranging from 200 to 400 meters, are of volcanic nature, and the climate of the territory is Mediterranean, characterized by moderate temperatures. Malvasia Bianca di Candia, Malvasia del Lazio, Greco, and Bombino are the grapes that produce Luna Mater: they are vinified in steel, then the wine is aged in barriques, and finally in bottles.

The Frascati Superiore Riserva Luna Mater by Fontana Candida is a brilliant straw yellow with golden reflections. On the nose, enveloped in a whiff of flint, the initial dominance is of papaya, quince, cedar, and ripe yellow peach, followed by notes of chamomile, broom, acacia, oregano, and mint. On the palate, it is warm and enveloping, savory and fresh; it stretches out on balsamic notes and citrus. Perfect for carbonara.
