Challenges of La Madeleine was born from 100% Cabernet Franc grapes harvested by hand in the company vineyards between Narni and Otricoli in the province of Terni at an average altitude of 160 meters above sea level. After fermentation, the wine was aged for 6 months in steel, for 10-14 months in French oak barriques and, finally, for 2 months in the bottle. Umbria Rosso IGT Sfide is a wine produced with a low content of added sulphites, following the Wine Resarch Team (WRT) protocol.
CABERNET FRANC CHALLENGES THE MADELEINE: TASTING
The Cabernet Franc Sfide from the La Madeleine winery has an intense ruby red color with violet reflections. On the nose, hints of ripe red fruit emerge combined with gentle vegetal and balsamic notes. On the palate it is soft and full-bodied, supported by velvety tannins and a trail of freshness that invites you to take a second sip. At the table it goes well with cured meats and mature cheeses and first and second courses based on red meat or game.
