Prunotto's Moscato D'Asti was obtained 100% from Moscato Bianco di Canelli grapes. After the hand harvest. the bunches were pressed and left for a short time in the press in order to facilitate the passage of aromas from the skins to the must. Alcoholic fermentation. once started. it was stopped upon reaching 5% alcohol by refrigeration. After clarification and filtration. aimed at providing stabilization and clarity. the wine has been bottled. Moscato Bianco belongs to the large Moscato family spread throughout Italy. The name derives from the term musk (from the late Latin muscum) which is one of the characteristic aromas of grapes.
MOSCATO D'ASTI PRUNOTTO: TASTING
Prunotto's Moscato d'Asti shines in the glass with a straw yellow color enlivened by a light perlage. On the nose it releases intense floral aromas of hawthorn which intertwine with mineral and citrus scents and warm notes of acacia honey. The sip is enveloping and elegant. enhanced by an excellent balance between sweetness and acidity and by a finish played on fruity and floral aromas. Delicately savory finish. At the table it goes well with all types of desserts. from dry pastries to seasonal fruit-based cakes. An intriguing pairing with foie gras-based appetizers and chicken liver pâté.
