Tenuta Meraviglia's Bolgheri Rosso was obtained from 100% Cabernet Franc grapes grown on volcanic soils characterized by the presence of San Vicenzo rhyolites. The reference vineyards are exposed to the South-West, at an altitude of approximately 150 meters above sea level. The entire red winemaking process, including maceration of the must on the skins, took place in truncated cone-shaped vats of raw concrete. The alcoholic fermentation of the must took place spontaneously, at a maximum temperature of 28°C, for a period of 13 days. The refinement lasted 12 months in large untoasted French oak barrels plus a further 3 months in the bottle.
BOLGHERI ROSSO TENUTA MERAVIGLIA: TASTING
The Bolgheri Rosso by Tenuta Meraviglia is ruby red in color with purple reflections. On the nose it offers aromas of cherry, raspberry and small dark berries that meet notes of undergrowth and hints of coffee powder, tobacco and liquorice. The taste is warm and intense, supported by sweet tannins and a long fruity and spicy finish. At the table it goes well with cheeses and tasty land dishes, especially if based on red meat or game.
