Thomas Dorfmann's Gewürztraminer comes from pure Gewürztraminer grapes. The vineyards of origin are located in the Untrum area, a hamlet of Velutrno, in the province of Bolzano. The soils here are pebbly and permeable, particularly rich in diotrite, and extend to an altitude of around 600 meters above sea level. The white winemaking process involved a phase of alcoholic fermentation - which converted the sugars into alcohol - at a controlled temperature. The wine has refined its characteristics in stainless steel tanks in contact with fine yeasts.
GEWURZTRAMINER THOMAS DORFMANN: TASTING
Thomas Dorfmann's Gewürztraminer stands out to the eye as having a straw yellow color with golden reflections. On the nose it displays aromas of litchi and tropical yellow fruit together with floral hints of rose and hints of aromatic herbs and spices. On the palate it is fresh, soft and full-bodied, finely aromatic and with excellent persistence. At the table it is perfect with cheeses and rich vegetable dishes as well as with tasty recipes prepared with white fish, molluscs and crustaceans. Also ideal with white meats.
