The Villamagna Riserva by Palazzo Battaglini is a red made from 100% Montepulciano grapes grown in the Villamagna area in the province of Chieti. The reference vineyards trained using the Abruzzo pergola system are rooted in clay-limestone soils at an altitude of 255 meters above sea level. The manual harvest was carried out after a brief drying in the vineyard at the beginning of November with a yield of approximately 90 quintals per hectare. During red vinification, the maceration of the must in contact with the skins lasted for 20 days. The refinement lasted 12 months in concrete tanks and a further 18 months in barrique. For its wines Palazzo Battaglini uses Dring, the innovative bottle with built-in drip guard. It is a patented device that allows you to pour wine without any drops falling from the bottle. No more wine stains on the tablecloth.
VILLAMAGNA RESERVE PALAZZO BATTAGLINI: TASTING
The Villamagna Riserva by Palazzo Battaglini presents an intense ruby red color in the glass. On the nose it expresses aromas of small ripe red fruits combined with notes of roses and violets and hints of aromatic herbs. The olfactory profile is completed by hints of chocolate, licorice and dark spices. The taste is intense and structured supported by robust tannins and an enveloping fruity and spicy finish. At the table it can be fully enjoyed with mature cheeses and succulent land dishes especially based on red meat.
